Ok so I have litter trained my 2.5 year old rabbit from the get go.

About a year ago I started using a cat litter box with hay at one end and just paper towel / loose hay so she will go to the bathroom on that side.

To be accessible to the litter box I had to cut a square out of the side so she wouldnt have to hop over the sides but now she has chewed and eaten about 1 inch by 1 inch of plastic from both sides over the course of installing the litter box.

She seems to be fine and everything but she constantly does it and idk how to make her stop.  I’ve tried multiple ways but what would be a good solution?

(also recently I added more room to her cage and she refuses to come out and is fairly crabby…any reasons?)

Does she have plenty of chew toys and willow? Have you tried cleaning the edges really good with vinegar/water? I know it’s hard once they set their minds on something! I’ve seen posts before like this and someone suggested a metal litterbox (I believe using a large roasting pan as a litterbox was mentioned as well — try to picture metal litterbox and not bunny in a “roasting pan”!)

Yea she mainly has a log (the ecotrition one which is highly debated -.-) and cardboard

She normally only chews on it when she ventures up to go to the bathroom or eat some hay.

I will give it a thorough cleaning tho and look into a roasting pan lol
