Last night we let Gizmo and Thumper (yes there was another name change with Thumper)out of there cage and let them play in the living room. All of a sudden Gizmo bit/nibbled my grandma’s toe. Then Gizmo came up and bit/nibbled me 2 other times. Then today he is non-stop biting. I dont really know what to do?  I googled it and it said whenever he bites you make a noise and get his attention, but when i did that, it didnt matter, he would stop and look at me and then do it again.  If anyone knows a way that might help me and him, that would be great. Also I was’nt sure if I should make a loud noise, i thought it would scare him and make him not like me. But I tried and now I kinda feel bad. Was I doing the right thing or should I try something else? Please let me know anything that might help!

If he is not biting hard, he may just be playing or trying to get you to give him something. It might also be since you haven’t had him that long, he may just be uncomfortable with you still. Yet again, it might just be because he is entering his “bratty teenage stage.”
You may want to try to bond with him more so he will become more comfortable with you, and in a bit, you may want to consult a vet about having them both neutered.

Yes we will be getting them neutered, what age should they be neutered. I’ve heard 3 1/2 months to 4 months. Also i will bond with him more. Thank you

For the boys, 3-5 months or whenever the testicles descend is the prime time to get them neutered.

Have a peek on their underside. You will know.

Digging is a completely natural thing to do. You can give him a box filled with shredded paper to dig in.

Little nips and digging are normal young bunny behaviors. He could be trying to explore or get your attention. If he nips, squeal like a rabbit in pain would. That will tell him in his language that he is hurting you and needs to adjust his pressure. Wooly learned not to bite down hard this way. He will put his teeth on me when he wants something, but he won’t bite down.

Well, you can do what I did with Leopold. Since he’s deaf, you can’t squeal or tell him no. So I simply remove him from the situation whenever he was doing something undesirable. That way he would not be getting what he wanted. Say he jumped in my lap wanting attention and he bit me. I would immediately return him to the floor and walk away. Or if I was digging in the treat bag and he started digging/nipping at my feet, I would not give him a treat and walk away. I would return later to give him a treat when he was behaving himself. That way he wouldn’t associate the bad behavior with getting what he wanted. I would do similar stuff for digging/chewing carpet, etc. I would remove him from the situation and redirect him to something else. It took a lot longer to reinforce this way, but he is definitely better.

And when we put Gizmo and Thumper in the living room to play, they were doing binkies, bunny 500’s and they also stretched out with there back legs straight out. Does that mean they are comfortable with us? or are they just having fun?

Generally, that means they are happy and excited. If they stretch out to rest, then that suggests they are comfortable in their surroundings and not worried about there being any danger nearby.

Be careful making a dig box. I tried that with my two and all that happened was they got a new litterbox and I had to remove a lot of nasty nor litter material.

The nipping can also be a sign of please move, your in my way. I use to get the variety of nips when my buns were intact but now all I get is the get out of my way nips.
