Hello everyone i’m new to Binky Bunny’s, i just need some tips on clipping my bunny’s nails I’ve only had him for about two weeks now so I’ve never clipped his nails before or any bunny’s nails before so i don’t know how he’d react, he doesn’t like being picked up for long or even staying on my lap for long, I’ve researched a lot on how to cut rabbits nails so i know how its done. This is Mylo

Oh my goodness!! Orange is my favorite bunny fur color Welcome to you and Mylo!
As to your question, my bunnies try and kick like crazy when they are picked up. However, since their nails need to be done for their health, sometimes you just have to do it and hold on firmly (not tightly)
I use the nail clipping methods where they are upside down on their backs in my lap. Some people find it very helpful to wrap their bunny in a towel. what methods were you planning to use for Mylo’s nails?

thank you!  my bunny does too I’m trying to get him used to being picked up now and again but i try not to do it that often, i was planning to turn him onto his back but I’ve never done that to him before so i know it will be a massive struggle, I’m worried that he will kick out and hurt himself, i think at first i’m only going to trim his nails slightly just because it’s my first time cutting his nails and i’m worried i will cut too far down the nail

No advice from me (I hold, my son clips, and my husband tries to keep me calm!). Just wanted to say that your bunny is just precious!

My rabbit refuses to be clipped so I use force, and use the same towel each time. She’s now growling everytime she sees that towel going near her lol. This keeps her associating discomfort/danger with that specific towel rather than me.

I tried trancing but it didn’t work. Bunny’s trance proof.

oh dear i really hope mylo doesn’t act like that, i guess i would rather him associate discomfort towards a towel or blanket than me i will try this if nothing else works thank you

Awww your bunny is adorable! I would recommend that you have at least one other person help you since it is your first time. After you clip your rabbits nails a few times with the help of someone you can try it on your own. It will increase your confidence.
