So I have a 1.5 yr old female mini lop who has not been spayed and a male Netherland dwarf who is neutered (not quite sure on his age) for months they have been housed next to each other and they would constantly touch noses through their cages and kind of fall asleep together.
So I finally decided to try bonding them. All seemed to be going well, they weren’t trying to attack each other or aanything. But, they have constantly been going back and forth mounting each other. I’ve never bonded buns before so I don’t really know what to do at this point. Will this make my girl go into heat? Is this a good sign? Should I just let them work out who is dominate on their own? Does this mean they just wouldn’t work as a pair? I know it would be much easier if she were spayed but that’s just not possible right now. So I’m just really looking for some feedback. Thanks!

I would put bonding on hold until she’s spayed. Intact rabbits are unpredictable because of their hormones. Even if can get them to get along it can change suddenly and injuries can occur.
