        Hello!

Thought I would introduce myself and my rabbit Jude. She’s a 3 month old sandy brown flemish giant and I love her to bits!!! I’m building the rest of her bunny run today so I will upload more pics when it’s done!!!

I should say that I just put the run together- I didn’t build it. Although after 3 hours of setting up- I think I should have just made my own. Anyways, I just have to run out and grab some wire to make sure it’s completely rabbit proof and then I’ll post some pics. Would you happen to know- my plan was to lay chicken wire flat on the ground (dirt and grass) inside the pen to prevent digging. Someone else suggested this might be sore for her hocks? Would it still be sore for her even if it’s flat on the ground???

            Thanks for the welcome!!!

Walking on wire, even flat on the ground, could still put odd pressure on different parts of the their feet and be uncomfortable/cause issues. If this is a permanent run then you can bury the wire. That would keep him from digging out of the enclosure but not cause any feet troubles.

Awesome! That’s what I was thinking as well! I ended up going with stucco wire which is a lot less flexible than the chicken wire so I will definitely have to bury it… maybe I could lay some sod… sounds stupid, but I want to avoid a mud pit lol! I wonder if I could get sod to grow over top of wire. Anyways, thanks for your reply! Jude is loving her new spot!

                  Hey again everyone!

So after 5 darn hours of what I can only describe as hell- I got Jude’s dog run up and bunny proof (I hope! So far, so good lol)! I am never working with chain link again! I think it would have been easier to simply build her something out of wood, but oh well. So I ended up going with stucco wire (which is a lot less flexible but also more durable than chicken wire) so I will have to bury it. I put down some wood that she can walk on until tomorrow when I start burying the wire. The pen is 6 feet- and I am going to put a hard top on it, just in case there are some random birds of prey out there In the meantime, does anyone think that she could get up on top of the dog house and jump out??? I’m crazy paranoid! Anyhow, she’s warmed up to me already since I had her in there and I think we’ll be getting along just fine soon! Here are some pictures of the run!!!
