Ok so I’m trying to come up with something visually appealing to put in the living room for Lucy Belle’s habitat.  I was googling and came across these awesome DIY ideas:

Then I discovered this awesome item for sale at Kmart (the only thing I don’t like is that there would be no way for Lucy Belle to get out by herself):

Has anyone done anything like these for their buns? How did you accomplish it? What materials/furniture did you use? Can you share pictures?

To be honest, those look nice, but I question whether or not they meet the minimum space requirements for a rabbit.

That Kmart one looks awfully small too.

Oh I know, I would definitely add space to all of them. I wouldn’t buy the one from Kmart because it’s $200 and I would end up cutting it up and meshing things lol so it would be a waste of money! But the basics of it are nice to base something off of!

My main concern with turning furniture into a bunny habitat would be toxic finishes or paint. It is generally assumed that no one will be chewing on a book shelf, so manufacturers don’t always use none toxic finishes.

Something that was fairly new and meant for a baby, like a crib less than 20 years old, would be OK.

I think that, despite the aesthetic appeal, they would be hard to build for those who aren’t carpenters. It would be easier, cheaper and less frustrating to get an x-pen and add a top. They can look nice too, though not like dressers. The furniture ones look hard to clean too.
