I was given a female rabbit about a month ago, and I’m not exactly sure how old she is. I would guess around 4/5 months, but I’m honestly very unsure. Is there any signs that I should have her spayed? I plan on it either way, but she definitely doesn’t seem as unhormonal as my other girl. Can I take her to the vet and have them tell me? She’s not violent in anyway, so that’s not an issue or a worry. I just want to make sure I get it done as soon as possible!

        Thanks everyone!

Typically females are ready to be spayed at around 6-8 months. Many females will become hormonal before this time, but some will not. I think the best thing to do would be to take her to the vet, and they should tell you how long it should be until they can do the operation, and you can schedule the spay.

I agree, a vet visit will help determine her age and if she is at an age (or weight based on breed) where the vet feels comfortable spaying.

If she is about four or five months old then she should be ready to be spayed though some vets prefer to wait until females are about six months old
