My boys are bonded, but many people tell me that they should have separate cages for nap nap time. They share quite a large cage (which they are never in unless I am cleaning) and have had no problem. But I saw people say that they shouldn’t be in the same cage, so I separated them when I vacuumed today. Cadbury is two months and started thumping and making this eeping noise and wouldn’t stop. He kept pawing and chewing at the bars, so I put him back with his brother and he stopped. Did he just have really bad separation anxiety? Should I keep them in their cage together while cleaning from now on?

If they are completely bonded, they do not need to be separated for naps. BUT, at the same time… If they are only 2 months old, you will have to separate them soon, as they reach maturity their bond may break, and unless it is 100% certain that they are both boys, an accidental litter can happen. And trust me… many many times people thought they had 2 boys, and one ended up being a girl, and 2 bunnies turned into 12 bunnies.

Charlie is two and Cadbury is 2 months. Charlie has been neutered for a while. It is 100% they are both boys. Cadbury’s got testicles.

In that case, don’t separate them unless Cadbury starts getting hormonal and they start fighting
