I have done tons of research and then spent months waiting for the perfect match to show up at the shelter. Finally tonight I brought home Miss Lucy Belle! She’s only seven weeks but was rescued from a bad situation. All of my research has helped me with all of her needs…except the first night home. I brought her home in a pet carrier, stuck it in her pen, took the top off aaaand nothing. She hasn’t gotten out of it at all. She’s gotten brave and moved around but stuck to the inside of the carrier. Anything I can do to make her more comfortable? I moved her food and water to her just in case..

It may take a little bit for her to recover from all the moving and new home. Just talk to her and maybe sit beside her box/pen while you are busy with other things (i.e. reading or laptop usage) so she will get used to you. Maybe put a cardboard box hidey house across from her to give her another dark place to explore and hide. I bet she’ll come around in no time. Is she eating and pooping?

Enjoy your new bunny! If that’s her in your avatar, she sure is cute!

It is her in my avatar, she’s incredibly precious! She spent most of the night in the carrier but by this morning she was exploring her new territory. She’s eating and drinking and pooping just fine!! I think we are off to a good start.
