I just bought my bun a new litter from Petco. Ive only had him almost 2 weeks so this is the second litter i am trying. I got the Planet Petco Paper Pellet Litter for Small Animals the 1st go round and it was great it was 100% recycled paper. Today I found Plant Petco Paper Bedding for Cats and its a better deal. The only difference is that it has Baking soda and Zeolite in the pellets. Is this safe for my Rabbit.

I also saw a Planet Petco 100% Natural Pine Pellet, would that be safe? If any uses pine pellets how does it hold up to urine? Does it clump. I know these PP Pellets hold up very well and do not much or clump!

I haven’t opened the bag just in case i need to take it back and exchange it.

        Please help, thanks!

You should consider the Yesterday’s News Unscented Cat Litter.

Sometimes the stuff they sell for rabbits is too expensive and not always suitable.

I use something called Lone Star Litter which is a pelleted sawdust litter but it’s really used in horse stalls and it’s safe for rabbits and much more affordable.

I do think that the Pine Pellets that you mentioned would be fine as well – just looked them up.

Also that paper one does seem fine as well.

Ok. I was just concerned about the baking soda and zeolite that are in it.

I also thought that pine was okay if it was in pellet form sort of like feline pine?

YN is way more expensive! But if all else fails ill just stick to the PP Paper Pellets for Small Animals 100% recycled paper.

It is fine in the pelleted form.

I imagine that the Petco paper product is the equivalent of the YN so the cheaper would be a good option.

I love love love carefresh for my boys, they are actually afraid of the noise pellets make when they step in their litter box! >_<

Isn’t it crazy that the cat stuff is cheaper even though it’s the same thing?! Lol!

Depending where you live, wood stove pellets may be available as the weather turns cooler. I would check that out as well. We use wsp exclusively, but some people choose to layer it with other litter. You can usually buy a 40 pound bag for about $6-7 dollars.

Thanks! I actually found a Tractor Supply Store in my area and bought Equine Horse Bedding 100% Pine Pellets. 40 lb for $5.79. It has worked good for the last 3 days. I’m so happy I found it! I heard it’s the same as WSP. The WSP are out of season.

MsBeBe_E I use Equine Pine and was actually going to suggest it to you. I’ve been using Equine Pine for the past year. It’s awesome stuff! It really holds in urine smells. I use it for both the buns and my cats. So it’s a totally awesome product!

I buy that stuff too, and I love it as well. Great for odour control!
Any unscented, propellant-free pine pellet is fine.

If you have a feed store near by, most of those mom n pa places carry horse bedding as well as small animal pelkets, its the same product, different label and a 40lb bag is generally $8.00 or under
