I’m afraid that Daisy is getting dehydrated. She’s not drinking, and since the weather is getting hotter, so is the temperature inside, no matter how hard we try to control it.

I figured out a while ago that she licks my hand when she’s thirsty, and although I’ve provided her with several bowls of water, she hasn’t touched a single one.

I’ve also tried getting her water through grass, but most of the grass outside is shriveled up from them sun. Is there anything I can do?

Make sure when you give her veggies, you choose varieties high in water content, such as lettuce, and thoroughly wet them before serving. You can also put a tiny bit of no-sugar-added (not sugar free) apple juice in her water to entice drinking.
To keep her cool, you can use ceramic tiles, frozen water bottles, small fans, and damp sheets.

My baby loves pineapple flavored pedialyte, it’s great for hydration. If you’re super concerned just syringe feed them more water or pedialyte. They”re babies so they tolerate it better.

Does she normally drink from bowls? Bowls are a more natural way to drink, but even so, there are some that prefer bottles. Do you know for a fact that she isn’t drinking when you’re not around? My bun seems to go hours with no water, and then suddenly she’ll drink a ton. Offering her veggies damp is also a great suggestion.

If she is in fact dehydrated, a vet visit may be necessary for fluids to be administered. Tomorrow is Friday, so keep this in mind. You don’t want her to decline further over the weekend and not be able to get her in if necessary!
