Do any of you use your bun’s poop as fertilizer? I know it doesn’t need to be composted and can be used as-is, but how?? Do you just sprinkle it on top, or do you work it in to the soil? How often do you add more? Do you remove the old? I know, these are really dumb questions. I have a serious brown thumb, though. My plants are all doing really well right now, and I’m determined to keep it that way! Fox is a serious poop machine, so I figured I should take advantage of all that free fertilizer!

I have a friend with a large garden that will take every bag of bunny waste I can spare and with 12 of the little monsters that’s quite a bit… They fertilize with the poop, mulch their fruit trees with the hay and compost everything else… I use some around my garden too but it’s not as big as theirs.

I don’t know whereabouts you are up here but I tried using my bunnies’ poo as is one year and it even killed off the dandelions!
Maybe in our climate (I’m outside Fairbanks) it needs a little ‘fermentation’ time. :-/

I just sprinkle it around my roses and peonies. I will add a little to my indoor plants pots. It can be mixed with the water used to water plants. If you are preparing a new bed, or digging a hole for a new plant to go in, that would be the time to really dig it into the soil.

MimzMum, we’re back in Anchorage, JBER to be exact. I picked up some wheat grass seed yesterday and mixed some poop in the soil, so we’ll see how it goes!
