My bunny traveled a lot with me this weekend. He went through two 1.5 hour drives between my hometown and college campus. On Sunday, I realized I didn’t have pellets for him, so I fed him cucumbers all day. (I know – this is terrible of me.) Monday morning, when I was driving him home, I noticed his water bottle was flooding his cage and that he was acting anti-social. As soon as I got back to school, I gave him a bath and cleaned out his cage. As I was drying him, he jumped off the counter and plopped onto the ground. He ran to the base of the couch and sat there. I picked him up into a towel to keep him warm. He then crawled into my lap very slowly and barely moved. He squinted his eyes, started breathing slowly, and would barely eat the food I gave him. I took him to the vet immediately. Vet said nothing was broken, but there was a little blood in the back of his mouth and some chewed up food that wasn’t swallowed. I went home with pain medication, pedialyte, and oxbow critical care. It’s Thursday and he’s eating and pooping and everything. But he won’t come to me. He runs under the couch (he hasn’t done this since I first got him) and runs away from me if I try to get him out. He used to run to me when I went to the bathroom, my room, the fridge, or to the cabinet with his food. He doesn’t anymore. He’s doesn’t jump up on his cage bars when I come near with food. He lays down stretched out a lot too, which he hasn’t done in a while. I don’t know what’s going on and I’m still worried about him.

He’s probably still recovering and you just need to get back into a routine. He very well could be sore still from the fall and he’s had a pretty stressful week. It’s good he is eating, drinking and pooping.

I just think he needs more time to recover.

I agree with Sarita. I would just continue what the vet told you, he probably is still stressed out from every thing this week, just keep him calm and let him recover. A few crasins never hurts either.
