Poor Cinnamon, our Holland Lop, has been shedding a LOT.  I assumed that this was either losing her baby bunny fur(she is 8 months old), or seasonal shedding or molting.  What started out as one bald spot and just a lot of shedding has now turned into about 5 or 6 bald spots, with some very minor dandruff looking flakes.  Other than that she seems to be acting just fine, eating and sleeping normally.  Please let me know if you have had something similar and if this is looking like maybe a case of mites I should take her to be seen for?  Her ears look just fine with no “dandruff” or redness, etc.

        THANK YOU!!!

Hard to know – best would be to have the vet do a skin scraping to see if he/she see’s mites.

Sometimes bunnies do get bald spots during molts, but it’s hard to tell. Has she been itching at all? You may want the vet to do a skin scraping, but keep in mind that those aren’t always 100% accurate, and it might not be a bad idea to treat her anyway, if it turns out to be nothing a bit of ivermectin won’t hurt her.
