I was thinking for a summer project, I would build Mocha and Rumpus a new cage. Right now they live in a big x-pen. I expanded it about 6 or 7 feet from how I bought it. I want to make the pen it’s original size and attach it onto a cage where all of there toys, water, food etc. will be.

It could be homeade or storebought, but i’m not really willing to spend a loadful of money on it. Also if it’s homeade, I am not really ummm, good at handyman things (cutting wood).

I have two rabbits that are 4 and 5 pounds each and they live together, so it would need to be big enough for both of them. They live inside.

Post ideas and photos of your rabbits setup and tell me how to make it/buy it from please!

        Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most large hardware store, such as Home Depot or Lowes, will cut the wood to size for you for just $0.25 per cut, so if you really wanted wood floors, it can be done by unhandy people. You can just use NIC grids though, Porky’s whole condo is made of grids from BB&B.

If you search the forum, one of my earliest posts was the full start to finish building of Porky’s condo, then later there are a few posts about the “porch” area I later added on to his condo.

What kind of space andlayout do you have to work with.

It sounds like building an extensive NIC cage is out of the question then. =p What you can do is add a level to your xpen. I currently have my all my buns in an xpen set up. They are all made out of NIC subs bought from BB&B, just like Eepster. They’re awesome. What I did was I put the pen in a cube shape and ziptied the strip horizontally to the side of the NIC cubes of the pen. For support I put a wooden fowl underneath it and a cube going vertically in the middle of it. I then put several layers of cardboard on top of it. My buns really seem to like it. They have destroying the cardboard and can easily just jump up to the level. Let me try and find a picture of it for you. =]

So adding pictures to a post seems to be acting up for me. The best I can do is give you This link. I do apologize. But this is basically the gist of what I was talking about. I’m thinking you could expand the level to be wider if needed. I just liked the idea of having a thin level for them.
