Recently Bugs My Holland Lop Bunny learned how to jump up onto my bed with the help of a binder laying on the ground during playtime in my room. After moving the Binder and making my bed so I could sit on it and work (Where I am currently). Bugs seems to be unhappy that I am up somewhere he isn’t? As soon as I sat up on my bed and began working he came over to the bed but couldn’t get up because the binder was now gone so he Thumped his foot then ran away but came back and did it again, I’m not really sure if it is because I’m up here and he isn’t or it’s something else.

        Thanks.

Thumping can mean lots of stuff. Sometimes bunnies thump because they’re scared. My Dexter thumps at me when I irritate him. Lol. It’s not usually something to worry about too much.

Nothing to worry about, like MoveDiagonally already said. My girl bun Mocha thumps when she’s annoyed, grumpy (lol alot), happy or just in the middle of playing.

I’m gonna go with he’s a little miffed that you took away the binder and now he can’t get up on *his* new soft play spot!

They do it for all sorts of reasons. Sounds like he just wants on the bed.
My late bunny Bella would thump when the guinea pigs were being too loud.

Okay thanks everyone! I was a bit worried that hearing a bunny thump was bad, but knowing that it’s pretty common relives me.

My bunnies thump all the time when we block off an area they like to run through/climb on/dig at. Sometimes they just thump when they’re running around before they do a big jump or go somewhere they like (under the sofa or on the bed!). I can bet it was a thump because the binder was gone, the same thing happens all the time with mine!

I can’t help but giggle because I am pretty sure in this case your bunny is mad at you for moving the binder. But, thumping can happen when scared. Bunnies use it as a warning system to other buns that something is amiss and to be on alert.

In this case I think it is just general disapproval that you get to be on the bed and he doesn’t. =d
