I think I’m ready to look for a new friend to bond, now 3 months after Cooper’s bonded pal passed away. I found 2 rabbits I’d like to go see tomorrow but I just called about them and they are from an animal cruelty confiscation so their ages are unknown. Cooper is about 2.5-3 (he was listed as 2 when I got him but I figured that could mean he was anywhere from 2 to almost 3). I know you can’t predict lifespans, but I’m just not sure if I should consider an unknown age rabbit that might leave Cooper alone again much sooner than if I wait to find a rabbit that I know is say 1-4 years old. Would you adopt without being sure of the age other than “adult”?

I understand what you mean – I don’t think I would rule these rabbits out though. I think as with Cooper they can probably give you an estimate on age, probably not exact which is the case for many rescued rabbits.

I personally would not hesitate if the rabbit made my rabbit happy – you cannot predict the future of any rabbit at any age really on how long they may live.

Also if you meet them and find out more about the circumstances that may help in determining an approximate age as well….

Since this forum loves to drool over adorable bunnies, I will share the current contenders.  I have a strong affinity for lops, but Sheldon, my giant, created a permanent soft spot in my heart for the big guys.  And I don’t know much about lionheads, but every so often one particularly grabs my attention, and well, I can’t take my eyes off this one (whose age is known to be 2).  All 3 rabbits are reported to be super friendly and love pets.

I think the pain of losing Sheldon only 2 months after adopting him has made me so much more concerned with ages, lifespans, health concerns, etc.  But I know Cooper was so happy having a buddy, grooming him and cuddling nonstop, I know he would love that again.

Get them all LOL…just kidding. They are cute – the lionhead looks particularly grumpy :~)

I think Cooper has some great choices there.

Ohhhhh, they’re all adorable. That lionhead is killing me. He should be on disapprovingrabbits.com.

                  I vote for the lionhead!
They are all adorable, I can’t wait to see who you end up with.
