A week or two ago I posted about my new bunny Nimmy and her bad litter habits. Since then I’ve gotten her a litter box and she was using it right away. But there’s still a problem, she poops everywhere. She hasn’t peed anywhere except for the litter box, and she poops there as well but when she’s having her free-time she continues to poop. I try to catch her in the act so I can pick her up and put her in the box but she does it all the time. She’ll be hopping along and out comes a poo, or binkying and a poo comes flying out.

It wasn’t a big deal, as long as she’s not peeing on the carpet, I was able to handle the poos. But now she’s jumping up on my bed and pooping all over it. This is obviously unacceptable, and I don’t want her up on my bed to begin with. Every time she jumps up I put her back on the ground with a stern “no”. With having her pooping on my bed, it’s sort of a wake up call I guess. It’d be great if she weren’t pooping everywhere, whether it’s on my bed or not. So any advice?

I always scoop up the poos and put them in the litterbox

Beds are notorious trouble spots. Even perfectly litter trained bunnies will usually mark (pee and or poo) on beds because they smell so strongly of humans. So that’s not abnormal.

Other than that, marking is really common for a new bunny in a new home or even a new area of a long term home. It’s something that will usually lessen with time as they get more and more comfortable. There is also a good possibility that she will not be fully litter trainable until she is altered.
