My rabbit is very timid of other people and gets scared easily. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I could make her more interactive with me. Sometimes she wants attention, but not normally for long. Recently I want to get closer to her but I’m not sure how. Any ideas?

One good way to get you bunny to know you is to let her out for play time. Lie down on the floor, or sit, with a book or you laptop (iPad, whatever) and quietly play with it while ignoring her. You could put a small treat or raisins in your pockets, or hidden in one hand while there. She will come around to you in her own time, out of curiosity. Don’t move suddenly, but if she touches you, you can gently reach out a hand and just pet her nose, forehead, and near her ears. Keep your fingers closed. A spread out hand actually can resemble a claw to a bunny. Let her sniff out the treat, or slowly bring it out of your pocket and let her take it. Stay there, don’t go after her, and do this a few days in a row. She will learn that she may find treats if she approaches you, and will get used to you as a friend, not a foe.

She lets me approach and pet her like any other rabbit would also i have had her for 5 years. But she still gets scared easily and tends to like no one but me so I guess I’m asking how could I make her more social towards others and even more interested in interacting with me than she has for the past 5 years
