So..basically, my 3-4 m/o male rabbit Sienna has reached sexual maturity..and he wants to destroy the wood on my bed, any outlets, electronic devices, etc. I know that bunny proofing will basically always be necessary, but will these destructive behaviors stop once he is neutered? Also, he has loads of toys that he chews, but apparently it isn’t enough for him. I love him, but not the aftermath of his sharp teeth! xD.

For stop? doubt it that is why you need to bunny proof.

It should be less though, after 4 – six weeks

Need time for the hormones to settle.

Still then giving them a box or a phone book (or both) is a good place for them to take that behavior out on.

Yeah, it will probably not stop completely, but it might get a little less.

Thank you both. I’ve already bunny proofed – after losing the cord to my cable box. I am still having an issue it’s him chewing on the bed, but whenever he does that I tend to distract him with some treats.

Young bunnies are definitely more destructive and a hormone-frustratred bunny even more so. I suspect neutering will help somewhat but a lot of bunnies continue being destructive while they are young.

Right now, he is chewing to take out his frustration from hormones. After he is neutered, he will chew just for the pleasure of chewing, so it will depend on how much he actually likes to chew on stuff. Generally, the chewing diminishes after neutering but doesn’t stop completely.
