Hi i am a newbie and i dont have a bunny yet. but i do have some questions.

        1. Are the NIC good for a outdoor home for a bunny? (my bun will not always be outside) if not what would be best?

        2. I have done alot of research on holland lops and i read that they NORMALLY have good personalities.(i do know it depends on the rabbit itself) do you have any other small, great bunny breeds. Not really for a first time bunny owner, but second time.

        3. what would you consider a good size cage for a holland lop?

        4. Also are neutered males or spayed females cuddlier?(again i do know it depends on the bun) i just would like to know your opinions please!! Thank you

          Hello and Welcome to BB!

          1. NIC’s would not be suitable for outdoor housing as they would offer little protection from the elements. It’s best for your bunny to live indoors and only play outside when supervised in a safe enclosure.

          2. Rabbit breeding standards are all about appearance and there aren’t really breed specific personality traits. Some breeders do try to breed their bunnies for temperament but it’s usually a general standard of ease of handling, ect… Not breed specific.

          3. It’s recommended that small-medium sized rabbit be housed in an enclosure no less than 4’X2′ which is 8 sq ft.

          4. You already answered this question! It depends completely on the individual bunny’s personality. I don’t either gender is more likely to be cuddly than the other.

          Hope that helped!

            Welcome!
I agree with what MD said.

NIC cages aren’t super sturdy and would be open to the elements, so they aren’t suitable for outdoor use.

We’re a house rabbit forum so we’re all going to tell you that bunnies should live indoors, so I encourage you to have your bun living indoors permanently. If this isn’t an option I don’t think you getting a bunny right now is a good idea.

Personality depends on the individual not the sex or breed of the bunny

thank you and being outside is only during good weather, suitable for bunnies(during the day, not night)

I agree with what everyone else has said thus far. I have only had 2 bunnies both netherland dwarfs they are small rabbits and they have totally different personalities. My boy is the cuddle bunny out of the two though my girl is finding out the joys of being petted. Neither of them want to be held. If you have never had bunnies before you will find most don’t like to be held. I would recommend going to a shelter and visit with different rabbits to find out their personalities. I am not sure if you planned to adopt or buy. I hope you find one that you like.
As for outdoor housing I haven’t ever housed mine outside but I would assume a hutch designed for that would be a good option. Like MD stated 4X2 sounds like the minimum size. Anyways best of luck let us know what you decided to go with and show us the pictures of your bunny when you get it!
