First the title should say new evil growling demon foster. LOL! But that would be mean. Plus he can be calmish when he wants.

This is ‘Bunny 4 from litter B137’(he doesn’t have a name as of yet). Him, 3 litter mates, and his momma are staying at the vets office where I take Enki. I initially turned down fostering him because it is so soon after Xena has passed and he looks a lot like her just less fuzzy and magpie colored. But after visiting him and then going over and seeing just how little room they have at the shelter he is being fostered through (people dropping off Easter bunnies they no longer want) I decided to foster him.

They don’t have much on him other than he is supposedly 7-8 weeks old and he is a lionhead or a lionhead mix. He is the smallest of the four but he is the most hyper of the four. And by far the most untrusting.

And he definitely does not like us humans in his space at all. He will be all fine with you petting him then do this ninja air kick and then chomp there goes your finger in his mouth. We are taking things VERY slow. I don’t think my hands have much more blood to give.

Enki has not met him and since Enki is still eating and drinking on his own I am thinking of holding out on letting them meet to see if he pulls completely out of his funk on his own. ‘Bunny 4’ is housed in my bedroom for the time being and Enki has the rest of the house.

I thought about fostering the mother rabbit first but she has definitely never been socialized with people or other animals. She makes the little runt look like an angel. I went just near her cage and she started growling and attacking the cage door. It was so bad they had to cover her cage so she couldn’t slam against the door. And she has already caused injury to the vets resident dog when she high tailed it out of her cage one morning.

But this is him avoiding me and checking out my bed and window. He does well if hay is involved so that is kind of my bribing tool at the moment.

As you can tell from his eyes in the first picture he was absolutely terrified of me at first. But he loves running back and forth on the big window (excuse my extremely dirty window) behind my bed.

OMG, he is so freaking adorable! You wouldn’t think such a little thing could act that way.

So… much… FLUFF! SO cute! I hope he comes out of his shell with you and learns to trust

OMG, that is one of the cutest little puffs I’ve ever seen!!!! So glad he is going to stay with you! It would be wonderful if him and Enki could become buddies. I’m glad to hear Enki is doing pretty well on his own.

He’s so fluffy! He’s adorable. It’s great that you were able to foster. I bet with time and your wonderful care he’ll become friendlier. I’m glad that Enki is doing alright on his own. Hopefully, he continues to do well and becomes 100% on his own. =]

He looks so much fluffier in person my friend calls him a living rain cloud. Lol. But yes at the moment he is a little monster. But he’ll hopefully get to a point where he doesn’t feel the need to attempt to murder my hands anytime they are near him. Other than the limited touching rule he is quite a character and so very hyper. I don’t think he is ever still. You definitely cannot keep him in his cage for more than a few hours or he goes a bit stir crazy.

The oddest thing is he is a super sound sleeper and he sleeps sprawled out on his back like a puppy. I will have to get a picture the next time I catch him snoozing. But my dogs barking doesn’t wake him or any other noise except the food bag. The second he hears the food bag rustle he is up and at the cage door.

No clue what I am going to name him yet since at the moment the only thing I can think of is Claws or Freddy Krueger or Little Fluffy Demon Bunny. LOL!

Enki is doing well. He still doesn’t allow touching so I just sit with him in whichever room he is in. He has started sitting or playing a bit closer to me so hopefully soon he will let me pet him or be my little lap bunny again. He has let my cat lay next to him though so that is a positive sign. Enki loves my cat and my cat didn’t seem to catch on that Enki didn’t want him around so Popcorn got more than a few nasty bites and scratches before Enki started letting him near again.

Did you do the bunny play date with your friend’s bun after all to help him come out of his shell? Or has it just been time that has been helping him?

Ginger still comes over daily. But he hasn’t reverted to needing to be tube fed this time even after she leaves.

Glad Ginger is able to come over daily. Little “Freddy” is adorable! (I like that name — he kinda looks like a Freddy (although not the Krueger variety!). How did you come up with the names for all the others?

I came up with my rabbit names in various ways

Pacey- Came from how I got him and with the help of BB members.

Walter- He reminded me of an old man and needed an old man name.

Marshmallow- She was very overweight when I got her and reminded me of a marshmallow.

Dini- He was an escape artist but I didn’t want to name him Houdini so I shortened it to Dini.

Banji- Either my friends child or one of my cousins (two are obsessed with dinosaurs) loves the Banji dinosaur and called him Banji.

Enki- Mercury was known as Enki in Sumerian times. Plus it sounds like Inky and he is black like ink.

Xena- She was named by the shelter when I got her. Plus Xena: Warrior Princess was one of my favorite shows growing up.

How about Pumpkinhead? LOL Talk about scary. Well, at the time anyway. I always find it funny when I go back and watch old horror movies and then wonder why I had thought it was so scary way back when.

                              LOL Pumpkinhead!

I love horror movies especially older horror movies. I don’t really like the newer gore fest movies. Not a gore fan.

When I was younger I was literally afraid of everything and I do mean everything. I couldn’t even watch most cartoons because they would give me nightmares for weeks. I accidentally watched Chucky (Child’s Play) when I was 7 or 8 and made my mom throw all of my dolls and stuffed animals away. Lol. I had a ‘My Buddy Doll’ at the time and he went straight into the dumpster as soon as I got home.

We had a female dog named Walter. My sister was at a frat party the night the pups were born. She got female Walter & her roommate got male Clarabelle. My sister couldnt keep Walter in her dorm room so home with Mom & Dad she came. Wouldn’t answer to anything but Walter. She was part husky and part german shepherd. Sweetest dog in the world.

                                I still like Freddy!

(What is it about people in my family bringing animals home for their parents to care for?)

These posts have made my day. Lol. I made the mistake of reading this while at work and nearly stabbed myself with a horse tranquilizer I was preparing!

Don’t let the cute butt fool you! I went to give him some hay and he nearly took my hand off. He sounds more scary than when my 80 lb dog growls! I fashioned a little ramp thing just so I don’t have to get him out of his cage. Lol. Why must he be so cute and fluffy????

Debating between Monty, Kroog (a less scary ‘version’ of Krueger), and Ollie (just because my friends said I was mean for wanting to give him a ‘villian’ name LOL).

He sank his claws into me bad enough last night that I had to get stitches. He’s a terror in an adorable fluffy little package. But at least now I can give him food and water without being eaten. Just no touching him while he is in his cage. Or looking like you are going to touch him. Once out of his cage he is still a little menace but not nearly as aggressive.

He has finally started exploring more than just my bed and doing binkies after looking full on terrified most of the time. He’s getting there.

I’ve had some pretty nasty scratches but no stitches so far. I’d love to see the looks the flemmie parents get . . . “Why yes, I have a giant bunny”!!

Enki is doing great now. He gets a little upset at times but for the most part he is back to his normal pushy snuggly self.

Monty is still a pain in the butt. He has gotten mildly better as far as attacking me if I am in his cage at all. He now knows that the mornings when I open his cage he is going to get food so he just growls instead of attacks. But other than that all bets are off. He does a lot better outside of his cage and thinks I am his own personal jungle gym. Getting him back in his cage is another story all together lol. You can’t really herd him or lure him it’s like he knows exactly what I am thinking and takes off under something. So his out time goes from 4 hours to 6-7 hours because I trying to convince him to go back in the cage without me having to pick him up.
