        Hey guys!

I have recently brought home a 18 month old desexed boy to play with my 2.5yo female.

Male is a netherland dwarf and female is a mini lop. Both desexed

They have been going so well and I’ve been doing all the right things! Play dates in neutral area etc. And increasing time etc.

I bought him home most two weeks ago but have been having play dates since last Thursday.

I have made two seperate runs right next to each other but are still seperate incase of fights. Don’t think they would but still have some under lying issues!

Whenever I let them both out to play the male seems to continuously mount the female. She deals with it for a few seconds but then runs away. He then chases her and follows her to do it some more and then she doesn’t even give him the opportunity to do it she just runs away from him. I think they may still be sorting out who’s boss as the female demands grooms whenever she seems him yet he is humping her ALL the time. I’m hoping it will settle down by worried if my girl keeps running away it means she doesn’t like him or she’s getting sick of him??

My boy is happy to groom her and she lays there and loves it when he does. But she won’t groom him and she hasn’t mounted him at all. When a loud noise or they are scared for example in the car etc they cuddle and love each other. Will the humping die down ?? Am yet to receive paperwork of when he was desexed as I know if it’s newly done it may be because of that!!

I just don’t want to leave them together yet it my girl does get so sick of him she causes a fight!

        Please help

I wouldn’t leave them alone together yet. I think it would be way too early for that. Humping is pretty common dominance related behavior but without knowing when the boy was neutered it is hard to tell if the behavior is dominance or hormone related.

I think i would continue with what you’re doing and give them more time to sort out who’s boss/for the boys hormones to die down(if that’s the issue).
