I’m still getting used to what toys my bunny likes, and while I’ve tried the willow balls and wood blocks, he was never engaged with them unless I dangled it in front of his face! I tried a friend’s suggestion and put a treat (in this case, I used his hay) inside one of the willow balls. Needless to say, I was surprised because he was actually gnawing at the chew toy and playing with it! Now I finally know what he prefers!

What do your bunnies like to play with? Also, I want to make some DIY toys since rabbits CAN be picky and end up not playing with something you think they’ll like. Does anyone have any homemade toy ideas?

My dog’s! Shame they don’t like to play with him….. LOL!
Being serious – check out LongEaredLions (LEL’s) TOYtorial – it is a HUGE hit with everyone/bun! And the big secret (ssshhhhh!) is to hide a treat, like a craisin (or hay in your case) within the toy to get your bun’s attention (thanks manic – brilliant suggestion). Beats hay stuffed in a toilet roll – even I got bored with a that, no wonder Henry did too! Have fun QuinceysMommy, cheers.

Cardboard. Willow (bark on)… though that gets expensive to try to keep, they eat a willow cube /ball in under an hour @ $5 a piece. They have the ring toss baby teething toy looking thing, but it isn’t used much. And they have some bird toys they gnaw on sometimes (bird toys are great for bunnies). Mainly, they don’t like toys much though.

Tiger has a variety of stuff. She has a large and small ball with a bell that seem to be made of a type of dried grass, a couple of cat toys (plastic balls with bells), a big yellow slinky that I only let her play with under supervision (she got her leg caught in it once), a bird toy – plastic gears with a bell on the end hanging from the ceiling of her condo, a sampler chew from the binkybunny store – she loves the cactus bit, a plastic ball to hide treats in, wood apples that hang from the ceiling of the condo – they have the inner part of the apples moving separately from the outside, and a couple of toys that hold treats that hang from her ceiling. Sometimes she seems very involved with her toys. Other times, she wants the human to entertain her. We practice different tricks such as standing up, sitting on my lap, “come here” and “go in”. She also likes for me to follow her around the room. Like a really slow version of tag.

More than toys, she likes different kinds of treats. I also put pieces of fruits or veggies in the freezer (sometimes in an ice-cube tray with water. She likes her tiny Popsicles). Also I’ve stopped buying toys for her – she has plenty, but what she loves more is human interaction, food, and toilet paper rolls.
