I posted this on rabbits online but I also wanted to post it on here. My bunny hasn’t ate or drank anything the past few days. He’s only been eating veggies. He was running around my room earlier but he doesn’t seem very active. I am taking him to the vet on Wednesday, I’m thinking it’s GI stasis. Is there anything I should do for him before I bring him to the vet?

Well, if he’s eating veggies that is good. If he is in stasis, you want to try to find out why – is it due to dental problems, an infection, etc…stasis is a condition that is caused by something else.

          How old is your rabbit?

Since you don’t think he’s drinking, you need to make sure that the veggies and greens he is eating, have been moistened with a little water. This will hopefully keep him from getting dehydrated until you can get in to see the vet. You could also give him some water in a syringe, if you happen to have any of those from prior vet visits.

Can you get him to the vet before Wednesday? If he is not eating I think that’s a bit too long to wait.
