        Hi,

I have a 8 month old mini lop who until going through sexual maturity was a perfect litter trained bun, this all changed about 1 month ago (is booked in for spaying in 4 weeks time) and while she still uses the litter box consistently for wee her poo’s go everywhere but the thing is I gave her a new house about 1 week ago and it seems like she is choosing to do poo in one area and wee in another so she does almost all her poo near her hay which makes sense but she saves her wee for her second level area which is quite small and her litter tray now takes up most of the space up there, I was thinking of blocking off the second level so she has no choice but to use the downstairs area then once she has the hang of that reintroduce the second level in the hopes it wont be used at all as a toilet?

Any suggestions would be great, let me know if you need some pics

We went through something similar earlier this year, even though Pepper is spayed. From the time we adopted her as a baby last march to this February she lived in a wire x-pen type of thing in the living room because she is a strictly indoor bunny. Well we wanted her to have more room and a nicer home so we bought her a GORGEOUS, HUGE 2 story rabbit hutch for the living room that we thought she’d love. Well it took her a good 2 weeks of living in it to get used to it and was peeing still mostly in her litter box, but was pooping all over the place in it, I think she was just marking it as hers, making it smell like herself because she stopped on her own after about 2 weeks. Now the ABSOLUTE ONLY place she goes potty is in her litter box. Your bun just might need more time to get adjusted.
