        His lungs sound clear and they let me bring him home.

        He is doing pretty well. But I have also been avoiding letting him in or around my bedroom where Xena had been staying for the last two weeks. I know I have to eventually let him see that she isn’t there anymore but I am going to give him a few days to recuperate after being at the vet incase he goes down the same path he went when he lost Dini and Banji.

        But for now he is hanging out with me and the dogs and my cat in the living room.

            Definitely keep him close by. He’s such a sensitive little guy. Hugs to you both.

                        Enki is doing well medically aside from his constant stuffy nose. But he is pretty much back to his old self. I still haven’t allowed him in the room where Xena was even though he tries to get in the closed door. He mainly looks for Xena when I feed him since she would stick her whole face in his food bowl before he could eat his food. I am planning to let him in there this evening even though I wish I could just shelter him from the room forever.

                            I don’t know what to say it’s so sad that he has to find out eventually… but I really hope that when you allow him in the room he will cope with it well. I’ll be thinking of you both. xx

                              I let Enki in the room last night and the results are not good. I thought he was going to do ok at first because when I let him in the room he looked in her cage and all of her usual hiding spots and when she wasn’t there he went back into the rabbit room and ate some food and generally acted normal. But after coming and going in the room a few times he started biting and thumping when I would go near him. My cat approached him and he left a bite on Popcorns back that was bleeding pretty badly. Now today he is in the corner of the cage and won’t let me near him.

                              My friend has offered to let me bring her rabbit Ginger over (Enki plays with her when they are over here) for a few days. I am not sure if that would be a good thing or make things worse once she has to go home.

                                Poor Enki! It might help him to spend some time with Ginger, but I wouldn’t have her stay — let it be like a regular visit with her but maybe have her over more frequently? That’s tough. I don’t know if rabbits can reason like this but poor little guy must feel like everything he loves dies and lashing out at the cat and you (i.e. not loving you) is the way to keep you around. Hopefully some of the BBers who’ve been around a while and have experience with bonded pairs and multis can help you figure out what to do to get this little guy past all of the grief. I know it’s breaking your heart to see him hurting. Extra hugs to you both (and to the cat!)

                                  Ginger has been coming over daily and Enki does well when she is here. When she is not here he has nothing to do with anyone. But at least this time he is still eating and drinking on his own. So I am going to continue this routine until he feels better.

                                    Glad Ginger is helping. I was afraid if she stayed over and then stopped that Enki would feel like she was gone too. {{{Happy Enki}}}
