First, please someone who is really experienced with rabbits help me with this!

I was brushing one of my rabbits Mocha today. When I was done, there was a sort of bare spot on her coat. I moved the fur around on the spot to see what it was, and I saw that her skin was sort of dark brown and her undercoat, where it should be white was an orange color. There aren’t any maggots. It didn’t seem to hurt her when I touched it. The rest of her skin is a mix of light pink and a darkish red color, but this little patch about 1 1/2 inches was brown with orange fur. Does anyone know what this means? Can someone also list a few skin disieses.

        Please reply quickly!

You’ve confirmed that this isn’t just new fur growth from shedding? When I first got Asia (my brown bunny), I must have seen her new fur growth the day it had come in- she’s normally brown with pinkish-white skin, but this was a black spot. Her new fur also generally looks a different color than the rest of her fur until it grows in all the way too.

I’m not really expierenced with this sort of thing. What exactly is a fur growth? The bald spot that you can see is pretty small but when you pull the fur apart, it’s pretty big. It’s not all bald though. Her undercoat is all white but here it is a darkish orange color and the skin is black. I’m not really super worried about it though. I don’t know how long she’s had it, but she’s not bothered by it whatsoever. She doesn’t mind if I pet her there or lightly press it. How long did it take fur Asia’s fur to grow in? Tell me if you won’t me to post a picture of it.

Thank you so much for helping me!
