Hello all, I joined this site a while ago and have been lurking since then. I meant to introduce myself and such but never really got around to it. Anyway. I have a beautiful 7 month old Holland lop (Nessa) who unfortunately has caught some fleas from my dog. I’m upset that she is scratching constantly and just don’t know what to do for her. I was petting her early today and noticed a nasty little black bug crawling in and out of her fur behind her ear, that’s when I discovered about 3 more fleas after digging through the fur around her face/neck. (Her fur is so thick I assume there is more I just can’t find) I don’t have any rabbit savvy vets within 5 hours of me. What should I do to get rid of the nasty suckers and get rid of them fast?

For fleas on rabbits, you need to use Advantage or Revolution. Do not ever use Frontline. As far as I know, you will have to get Advantage or Revolution from a vet. They will give you the right dosage and formula. You put drops of it on the back of the rabbit’s neck, where they can’t lick. You will also need to be very diligent about cleaning. You will have to vacuum frequently, since fleas only live on the rabbit part of the time, and they spend the rest of the time in carpets, or on sofas or curtains. You can also get a flea comb to help remove the fleas.

I use the Revolution puppy and kitten with the pink banner… I find it excellent and very easy to use and it has never upset any of the buns…
