        Hi,

So we might be moving soon and we might be going into an apartment! I am worried because a lot of the apartments around where we live do not allow rabbits and my parents think we should give the rabbit to someone else for 6 months until we get are house O_O and that person would take care of them i am worried the rabbit would TOTALLY forget about me! and if we do move into an apartment we have a dog (which is a terrier) who is trained to hunt rabbits O_O and I don’t know how we would deal with the rabbit in an apartment and the dog since it is so tiny! What do you think i should do!?! I really don’t want to give the rabbit to someone else for a little bit do you think it is okay if we give him to someone (please say no! ) and it is a lot of stress moving for rabbit and moving into an apartment and then into a new house is probably a lot of stress do you think he will be okay and is there anything i can do to make him more comfortable??

You say you might be moving, and you might be moving to an apartment. If I were you I’d try not to worry too much until you know what’s happening, because there’s nothing you can do until you know.

If you do end up in a situation where you (temporarily?) can’t have her living with you, I’d suggest you give her to a friend or family member who can look after her properly. It’s definitely not ideal, but if you can’t have her in the apartment then you can’t have her in the apartment, there’s nothing you can do about that.

As for her forgetting you, I wouldn’t worry! I’m sure you’ll miss her more than she misses you (all they care about is food, eh? Mine never miss me! ha!). And she won’t forget you. If she stays with a friend, you can go visit and everything.

Like I said, it seems like a lot of ‘mights’ at the moment so don’t worry for now.

I agree, I wouldn’t be overly worried if it’s all still theoretical.

Would you be able to talk to the landlord of the apartment? I lived in a no pets apartment but my landlord allowed me to have rabbits after I discussed it with him.

If you can take him, can you just keep him locked in your room away from the dog? Unless it is a one room apartment there must be some place he can be separate.

Don’t worry too much about him forgetting you, or about the stress of moving. Most rabbits are very adaptable and will adjust easily enough to new places.

                Hi Lulu,

If they won’t take a rabbit they certainly won’t take a dog…. Chances are they are more likely to be willing to allow the rabbit over the dog. If the move is definitely going ahead you might want to see if the person who was going to care for your rabbit can take the dog instead as they do tend be more resilient when it comes to change and having to stay else where for a period.
