I recently got my new bunny around 2 days ago. I wanted to slowly introduce Veggies to him starting with some romaine lettuce. I gave him a small piece washed it and gave it to him, Now after a bit it seems like he is pooping a ton of cecotrophes poos? this is normal?

        Thanks

Yes it is He will more than likely eat them.. Cecotrophes are poops that still have nutrients.. Another reason why it is normal is because its his first time eating veggies so his tummy is getting used to it

Another question, (I never realized how many questions I would have about poop!) I read that when your Rabbits poop is darker it means there getting to much protein? Right now Bugs has a diet of Timothy oxbow pellets and Oxbow alfalfa hay and his poop looks very dark.

How old is he? If he is not a baby, he should be having timothy hay. Alfalfa has too much protien, as you have observed

              The timothy pellets are fine.

Yeah I didn’t know he was that young.  We only realized how old he was after we were driving home. I’m giving him 1/4 cup.

Buns at this age should have unlimited pellets and hay. IMO I would switch Bun over to timothy hay. We had this same issue with my bun Skipper. We got her really young without realizing it and her digestive system was all out of wack. If her poo still looks odd, I would maybe play around with how many pellets you are giving bun.

He should be having alfalfa hay. Here is an article that will help. Scroll down to the section on babies.
