I’m thinking of buying Jughead a bed (you know a cheap dog bed that anyone can buy at Walmart) do you think he will just pee on it? He is neutered and is litter boxed trained (he pees in the litter box but doesn’t always poop inside of it). Anyway, do you think it’s a good idea or a waste of money?

I think it’s a great idea – worth a try, at least. I think whether he pees on it really depends on his personality. One of my bunnies pees on every bed, blanket, towel, or vaguely soft surface he comes across so I’ve given up on dog beds for him. It was too much of a hassle to always have to wash them. Now he just gets fleece blankets or soft towels. My other bunny never pees anywhere except his litter box so he’s fine with having all kinds of beds and cushions.

Can’t hurt to try with a cheap one and see how it goes. Just make sure that it doesn’t have stuffing that he could eat if he rips it open (not a concern if he’s not a chewer/digger).

I just bought one for Charlie and Cadbury. I bought a nice cushy one from Walmart as well! lol. Since they’re bonded they both sleep in it. Both marked it the first day, and I sprayed some nature’s miracle spray and cleaned it up, and they haven’t done it since. They sort of mark anything soft like that though the first time.

My boy always sleeps on the floor, whether it’s the vinyl floor (family/living area), carpet (our bedroom), the doormat (cause the dog is laying/sleeping on it) or his house. Henry will lay on my bed, but not sleep on it (he sleeps ‘under’ my bed). It’s not necessary, but if you want to, go for it – but I don’t think it is any great treat for a bunny? My hubby lays a blanket down and Henry will sit on it, but not ‘sleep’ on it. He likes his sleeping ‘spot’s’ to be uncomplicated. If you do get one, make sure it is easy for YOU to clean. Not saying that Juggy ‘will’ wee on it, but you will want to be able to clean it on occasion. I used to buy those for my dog’s and I couldn’t keep them clean for the life of me, so ditched them and now just use a baby/cot blanket/comforter – they wash beautifully and easily in the washing machine. Cheers Jughead.

I’ve seen bunnies that love them… Use them as a litter box… Or just ignore them. It really depends on the bun. My Peanut would use it as a litter box. My new bun is using one to dig and binky in… He thinks it’s great fun. Lol. Although I think he’ll be the type to sleep in it when he gets older.
I think you should give it a try and see what happens.

Definetly try it out and see how your bun does. My bunnies love beds.

One of my bunnies pees on soft surfaces, the other one doesn’t. The non-pee-er sleeps in my bed, at the foot-end. He’s made that place into his favourite hang-out during daytime as well.

So you don’t really know until you’ve tried, which rabbit will be civilized about a bed.

My bed is of course a human bed, not a pet-bed, but it’s still soft and and Yohio has his own pillow (the pillow-case of which he has customized into the most beautiful, almost lace-like appearance by clever use of his teeth only!) so I think it qualifies in a way. My only problem with getting him a pet-bed would be that he’d probably very soon turn it into sth beautiful and lace-like with his darn teeth. And the fact that if he slept in his own bed, I’d have lost my little furry bed-fellow.

I bought one of those round plush dog beds for my buns and they continually peed on it. Not sure what the deal was with that, but I ended up throwing it out.
