Hi everyone! I was cleaning Flash’s litter and noticed these little white things in her poops, according to google it’s pinworms. Has anyone had these before? How are the treated? Can I treat at home and is it dangerous to her?

It is treatable – I would have the vet confirm they are pinworms and they can prescribe you a dewormer. I’ve had a rabbit with these before and I cannot remember what the dewormer was called that was prescribed but it was treated and he was fine. I just treated him with the dewormer at home and then took another fecal in to make sure the worms were eradicated.

Yup, they are pretty easy to treat. I don’t know what your vet will recommend but there are meds available without Rx that work fine. If your bunny has regular contact with other animals or spends time out side it is sometimes a good idea to put them on a regular worming schedule. Talk to your vet about it.

She’s a house rabbit, no contact outside and no other pets

With pinworms, you’ll see them as soon as rabbit poos. You can also check her bottom and sometimes see them there.
My girls were treated for pinworms with panacur (fenbendazole).

If you’re seeing white things moving later on when cleaning the litter, I wonder if flies have been on it?
