        Hey guys,

I’m sorry I haven’t been super active lately.  I’ve been sick and finishing college.

Anyway, Bailey has been running into things a lot.  And I’ve been noticing that it’s only on her left side that she’s doing it.  I mean, Lola runs into things when she’s doing bunny 500s and gets overly excited, but Bailey will just slowly walk into things.  Is this relatively normal?  Or cause for concern?  I’d really like to avoid taking her to the vet if possible since our vet is over an hour away and very expensive.  But obviously I will take her if I have to.  I just want some input before doing so.  I’m worried that she isn’t seeing well out of her left eye.

        Thanks,

        Sophie

That definitely sounds strange. I’m concerned there could be some sort of vision issue. That’s not normal. Are there any visual changes to her eye?

No, her eye looks totally normal. I did some research on eye issues for rabbits, and it doesn’t sound like any of the problems because there is no running or any other visible issue. I tend to overreact about little things, so I don’t want to get too concerned if there’s nothing wrong. I thought she might have ear mites because she seemed like she was scratching her one ear a lot, but the vet said that she was in perfect health. And afterwards my boyfriend just laughed at me since he had said all along that I was overprotective and reading too much into things. She had an examination pretty recently too, and the vet REALLY stresses her out. I’m worried that I’ll do more harm that good by driving her super far and then bringing her there. I’m thinking that I’ll monitor her for the next couple of days and ask my boyfriend to as well so I can have a second opinion as to whether I’m just inventing a problem that isn’t there. Does that sound good? Or is that too risky?

I don’t think it will hurt to wait unless it is a hay poke or similar. Did this issue spring up quickly or was it a slow onset?
              Well wishes for your bun.

I will be making an appointment for Cotton in July for the same.  And his yearly checkup. I don’t see anything wrong with his eyes either.  I am curious tho he did run into something outside.  He doesn’t like me on his right side. Everytime I go on his right side when we are outside he runs.  On the left he is fine. Maybe he is left handed or something.

He has slowly walked into his xpen  several times but I think cuz it is black and it is dark around the table where I put it when I  go to catch him. I am wondering if he is having eyesight issues too.

                He is fine otherwise.

Your bunny seems to have more of an issue than Cotton tho.  Let us know if you take him to the vet what the vet says. I am curious.  I think I would take him to see the vet.  I am like you over protective. I think most of us on BB are.    Better to be safe when it comes to bunnies.

Ear mites you would see dark spots in their ear.  Usually in 1 ear not both.  Usually

So, my boyfriend convinced me not to worry about it.  He spends a lot of time with her early in the morning while I am still asleep, and he says that she seems perfectly fine to him.  I haven’t actually noticed her bumping into anything since I posted this, so I am going to assume that she is fine.  I did make the boyfriend promise to tell me immediately if he noticed her bumping into things.  I think she was just being clumsy for a couple of days.
