I went outside and I found a young cottontail bunny (it fits in the palm of my hand)  just laying there and when I approached it, it didn’t move at all. It was 30 degrees and raining out so I got a towel and wrapped it up, put it in a shoe box and put it in my warm garage. I tried calling the wildlife rescue in my area but they are closed on Sundays so I have to wait until tomorrow to call.

Is there anything else I should do for it until tomorrow?

What a little sweet heart… How is he now… Possibly offer some herbs and a nice dish of water, or hay if you have some…

He’s adorable – hopefully he is well – he looks old enough to eat on his own as well. Just keep him warm.

Have you managed to get him into the wildlife center? Poor little thing…

Poor Little Fellow In The Rain.

Right now I’d just suggest everything everyone else said, keep him warm, make sure you pick grass or get hay for him to eat while in the shoe-box hotel. A tiny bowl of water would be needed too. Right now your only options is to keep him safe, fed, and warm until you can reach that rescue and they can tell you what to do.

Thank You For Caring About Him Stephanie!

Scroll down to the bottom for feeding. Are his eyes open?
