Hey everyone 2 days ago flash stopped eating her pellets, nibbled a bit but not much. Her poops were different sizes some much smaller than others. So I fed her some fresh greens and she ate that so fast! Her poops are now back to normal and she still isn’t really eating her 1/8 cup of pellets. 2 weeks ago I changed from kaytee brand to oxbow. Is there something I’m not doing right? Is she not well? Can I do anything to get her to eat it?

So she is eating hay and veggies?
And she’s pooping normally you say.

I wouldn’t worry too much if that’s the case. It could be the change of pellets I suppose… did you change it gradually?

Sounds like she was a bit dehydrated possibly from molting… The greens would have helped her to rehydrate…. Keep the greens nice and wet for her and make sure there is plenty of water and hay on offer.

Is it bad that she’s not eating them? Are pellets a requirement in her diet?

Pellets are the least important part of the bunny diet. As long as she’s eating hay and pellets, I’m sure she will be fine. Most likely she is being picky about the pellet change.

From your other thread, you said her poop had been different sizes and she passed some mucus. This shows her gut had been a bit sluggish.
When my rabbits aren’t feeling the best, they don’t want to eat their pellets either. It’s the first thing they snub where as usually they go mad for them.

Does Flash have a water bottle or bowl? If she has a bottle, try giving her a bowl also, in effort to get her to drink more. You can try feed her some oral rehydration solution too. Either with a syringe or she might drink it straight from a dish.

What are her activity levels like? Getting her moving around will help keep her gut moving along.

Try wetting the pellets with some warm water and see if she’ll eat them like that. They swell and fluff up and smell nice.
