Some of you may know that my cousin got 2 rabbits awhile ago and they thought they were both girls. They haven’t been able to got to a vet and they thin one of them may be pregnant!!!! I now we aren’t really suppose to talk about pregnant rabbits on here, but I don’t now what to do. It was NOT intentional. Can you give me some advice. This will be her first litter and she is almost 1 year old. I’m going to check today hopefully. Do you know any way I can be positive sh’es pregnant!!?? What do I do if she is? Put her in a different cage away from the other rabbit? Should I handle the babies? When should they be weened? What if they can’t afford a vet to fix them? I’m going to try and contact a rescue here and see if they can help with anything. Any information you can give me would be very appreciated!! I also wasn’t sure where I should put this post, but here it is.

Discussion of intentional breeding isn’t allowed, but it is okay to ask for info like this. We are limited on the help we can offer here though bc this isn’t the focus of the forum.

The first step is to get her into a rabbit savvy vet who can confirm if she is pregnant and close to delivery. If the vet does not feel any babies, she may still be pregnant but very early in the gestation. If that is the case, the recommendation would be to have an emergency spay done. This will spay her and terminate a pregnancy if there is one.
