        Hi all!

We’re (Winston and Cassie) new to this place and are excited to have found you all!

I’ve got some questions to ask and I am confident that you all can help
They are older bunnies and since I rescued them, I have been working on litter box training…  It’s going pretty well, with the exception of a couple accidents here and there.  I think this is due to the fact that I have shavings all throughout their cage?!  My question is, what type of shavings or bedding should I use? I want to make it so I can put towels or blankets in their houses instead of shavings or litter and just keep their litter box supplied with those… Who can help?

Thanks in advance to all of you!
        Hoppy Easter!

You should only have litter in the litter box. They can be on the bare floor everywhere else.

Pine and cedar shavings are not safe for long term use. They can lead to respiratory issues and liver disease. You can use Aspen shavings, wood pellets, recycled paper pellets…

            Welcome!
It is best to only have bedding in the box. It confuses them a bit less
Safe: Aspen, pine pellets, paper pellets, carefresh, yesterday’s news cat litter etc.
Unsafe: Pine, Cedar, Softwood, Corncob, clay based cat litter
It is a good idea to try different beddings and see what works best for you and your bunnies.
