        Hello,

My first post on here! My partner always wanted a rabbit but I wanted a dog. Now we (I) have Peppercorn I can’t believe I’ve never had a rabbit before! Peppercorn was adopted because he was attacked by another rabbit so he can’t have a bunny companion 🙁 but is he and rabbit to a hare? I know his colouring Looks like a hare but his behaviour is a hare…PS I can’t post a video nor photo so look my profile and see what you think

          Hi, welcome to the forum!

You might want to check out the technical section to see how to upload photos, it’s easy once you get the hang of it!
It’s pretty hard to say what breed your bunny is with only your avatar, but from the photo he looks similar to one of my bunnies who is a Continental Giant. (Photos on my profile if you’d like to compare)

Lots of bunnies have that beautiful brown/agouti colouring, not just wild ones!
Hares aren’t domesticated and can’t be kept as pets so I’m sure your bunny is a rabbit not a hare.
Where did you get him from?

We’d all love to hear more about you and Peppercorn (great name by the way!)

Rabbits and hares are different species and hares aren’t domesticated. There is a breed of domestic rabbit called a Belgian hare, but that’s just based on their looks.

Our pet rabbits are the same species are European wild rabbits, though they have been domesticated for a long time. Domestic rabbits can have the agouti coloring of wild rabbits, but it doesn’t mean they are wild – it’s just a common color.

I hope you are able to post pics!
