        Hello.

My nine week old female bunny seems to be producing an abundance of cecotropes.  She is litter trained and never does them in her litter. Instead she does them in every corner of her space and naturally runs the risk of standing in them or sitting on them. Not good.

So, my question is… should i be concerned about the amount she is producing? Her other normal droppings are normal in appearance, nothing seems wrong there. Assume she is eating (of her cecotropes) what she needs – not that I have seen her do that, probably does at night – so if I clean them up am I running the risk of denying her the nutrients she needs from them.

Fyi, havent radically changed her diet from what she was fed by her breeder or introduced anything exotic. I am really concerned so any advice or comments would be appreciated!

        Many thanks

        Robyn

That’s normal for a rabbit this age. It is the case that she is only eating what she needs so it’s okay to clean up the “leftovers”.

As you could tell I was really concerned.
