        Hi all,

About a month ago I posted about how my lovely Noah has taken to biting on his cage door/bars in general in the middle of the night because he’s locked up.  Someone suggested I buy thin flexible cutting boards and weave them in and out of the bars of the door to stop him from being able to chew, so I did.  It worked for about a night or two, then he moved on to another section of his cage, so I added more cutting boards.  Now he’s moved on to a new section and I’ve run out of cutting boards, nor am I into the idea of lining his entire cage with cutting boards because I’m sure he’ll just find a way around them.  I also bought bitter lime spray, as well as bitter apple, and nothing is working – NOTHING.  I am going out of my mind at this point.  I don’t know what else I could possibly do to stop him.  He’s getting neutered next week, and I’m praying some of this behavior will stop, but there is of course a chance it will not.  Does anyone have any input?? I’m starting to contemplate a new cage but I don’t really have the money to buy one and building one from those Target-bought cubes will take far too long.. that would be a last resort for me.

How much time does he get out per day?
Building the cube condos is actually surprisingly fast.

My bun used to be the same way. I found out feeding her and giving a treat (Like pineapple) to her right before bed helped calm her down. Hopefully this helped in some way!

@LongEaredLions, he’s out of his cage pretty much all day long. When I wake up I feed him and let him out, unless I have class then I let him out when I get home. He’s out all day, then when I go to work at night around 5-5:30 I put him in his cage, then let him out when I get home around 9 and he goes back in when I go to sleep. @MoxieMeadows, I always feed him at night, I can try to give him a treat though.

I saw on the first one I posted previously that someone suggested a sheet over his cage before bedtime (I didn’t see the suggestion until now) Does anyone else do this?

I ALWAYS cover my bun, every single night. I usually cover her around 9-9:30 at night. I uncover her when I wake up. It gives her the signal: Time to calm down! I’ll be uncovered when it’s time to play!

                I wish you luck!

I cover Boo too.  He is quiet at nite.  I havent seen your previous post so excuse me if this has already been mentioned,    have you put a chew toy in there to keep bunny busy n give bunny something to do that isnt as noisy as chewing the bars?

I put willow cube or ball in Cottons cage.  He eventually chews them n it doesnt make a big noise no one gets woke up.  This might work. Hopefully Maybe he is bored?  Who knows  what goes thru the mind of bunnies.

that seems to be working fairly well! in the meantime I’ve been contemplating a DIY NIC cube cage for him, since I truly believe he’s starting to outgrow his cage.
