I purchased a Nethie from a breeder, and he is our first rabbit. But now that I look at him I’m wondering if he’s maybe a false dwarf. He is still pretty young (2 months) but his ears are almost 3 inches. What do you think?

I agree! He’s adorable! He very well could be a false dwarf, but I wouldn’t worry about it. He is still a little sweetie. =)

His ears don’t look that big to me. He might be a dwarf mix. Whatever he is, he super cute!

It’s a Triscuit, he only gets half of one when I trim his nails. I looked them up and while they’re not very good for the rabbit, they shouldn’t hurt him.

We’ve had him two weeks tomorrow. He’s very friendly and often likes to lounge around. He gets about 5-12 hours of freedom a day.

If they are not very good for the rabbit, you shouldn’t feed them. They will fill your bunny up and keep him from eating healthy foods. There are many healthy treats you can feed, such as herbs and fruit.

My first netherland dwarf is on the bigger side and his ears are 3 inches long. All that means is your netherland dwarf isn’t show quality. I believe the ears have to be 2 and half inches or smaller to be considered show quality. The show quality ones have the smallest ears. My female netherland dwarf is much smaller than my male and has shorter ears she is close to show quality in size and her ears are a little under 2 and half inches last time I checked. Most Netherlands I see are pet or brood quality. Not all the babies from a litter are going to be small. From what I can tell your bunny is a netherland and seems small but its ears are on the bigger side like my boys are. I think its a gorgeous bunny none the less.

My rabbits ears ( He is a Netherland dwarf) And his ears are probably around 1 1/2 in long. They are very short But he has a small head and a big body he looks a little funny too. XD I need to update the pic but I don’t remember how to because that pic is from when he was three months old.
