        Hi all,

I have a lovey house rabbit called Vader. I am concerned about his eyesight as he seems to bump into things sometimes and if I wave my hands in front of his eyes there is no reaction. Otherwise he seems very active and happy.

        Am I worrying unnecessarily?

They definitely cannot see straight in front of their face. They don’t see things the same as we do either – it’s more like shapes than anything.

Bunnies do have rather poor eyesight, but if you notice that he does not seem to see things right in front of his eyes, would ask a vet.

Their eyes are oriented more to peripheral vision rather than straight ahead like mentioned.

He may have normal vision, or slightly worse than normal, or he may be blind. If he’s in a dark room and you flip the light on suddenly, does he blink his eyes?
