Apparently he keeps giving her plates full of apple slices when Im not around to feed her.  I thought Id told him that was too much.  Hopefully it’ll stick this time, but Im kind of bummed because she’s shedding and I dont want to brush her without treats, but I think shes probably treated out for now.

I gave her a plate of wet greens and she seems pretty happy with that.

Haha, don’t feel too bad. My dad (Lulu’s grandpappy) gives Lulu extra treats all the time and will just give them to her without making her work for it lol. I always tell her to ‘sit pretty’ before she gets a treat.

Tell your Dad that too much sugar can lead to vet bills! Bunnies have very sensitive digestive systems and they are not made to digest sweets. They are only supposed to get about 1TBSP of fruit/treats per day.

I can relate to this. When I was a teenager, I had G Pigs and they loved my Dad. Whenever he was near my room or if they heard him in the kitchen, they would Squeak. I would come home and there would be like a whole broccolli or like 5 carrots in their cage. I kept telling him they were on a specific diet and I was feeding them plenty. He would say “No, they were squeaking. Your hamsters are starving”. Dads……

Not quite. He doesn’t dislike her, he thinks she’s “just a rabbit” so any sort of fruit/veggie will be fine, she can’t get that sick from it. Very frustrating.

My dad is exactly the same! When he came over to our house while we were out, she hopped over to beg him and he thought she needed her meal. For some reason though, he though her meal was three raspberries and not a handful of greens! We’ve trained her to walk for her treats. He just put down three raspberries.

Needless to say, we came home to a very bouncy rabbit and he’s been her favorite grandpa every since.
