        Hey Everybody!!!
I just made up a rabbit safe candy toy that I think looks really neat, so I thought I would show you guys how to make it! The pics I used to show you how to make it have yarn instead of sisal, but I don’t have sisal. Don’t worry I won’t be giving this to my rabbit!

        Materials needed:

A paper towel tube, A pair of scissors, Sisal string (A twine like string), treats(using pellets here), and a brown paper lunch bag.
Step #1, take your scissors and cut fringes along both sides of your toilet paper tube

Step #2, squeeze the fringes of one side of your paper towel tube together. Then push inwards.

Step #3, cut off a piece of your sisal string and tie it around the fringes of one side of the tube.

Step #4, cut off a piece of your brown paper bag and put your treats in the center of it.

Step #5, using your hand smush the paper around the treats.

Step #6, drop the crinkled paper holding your treats into the open side of the tube.( because the treats are held in paper it will make it more challenging for your rabbit to get to)

Step #7, repeat steps two and three to the open side of your tube.
        And you are all done!!!

I hope you liked this rabbit safe candy toy!!! Be sure to send me pictures of your bunnies enjoying this as well as some feedback on how they liked it, if you decided to try it out. I also hope that these instructions were clear enough!

What other type of “string” type stuff is useable?

Hmmm… I don’t know too much about rabbit safe strings. I just know of sisal. I have heard of people also using paper twine. If you would like a better answer maybe you can ask in the diet and care section. Sorry, I don’t want to tell you the wrong information.

Raffia is safe. You can find it in pretty much any store that has a craft section. Just make sure it isnt treated with anything.

You can use raffia, sisel, jute, or corn husk.

I attempted it, but I can’t say I was proud of my work. :/
I am going to try again and take pics then.

                                        I don’t think I cut the slits deep enough…. I didn’t have enough cardboard o tie properly. :/

By the way, I have a quick tip that I forgot to mention in the instructions. Once you finish tying either sides of your tube with the string, pull your fringes apart like this:
