Seems to have developed a habit in climbing on my chest then flopping over to sleep. If I dare wake her up, fart, get up, or try to move, she’d grunt and bite me. If I get back down she’d go back to sleep, but if I continue getting up, she’d keep trying to bite me until she gets pissed off and scampers back into the cage all moody. I just let her sleep on me for over 20 minutes and she got up to eat and poop.

How hard are the bites? Are they tiny nips, or are they hard chomps?

Bunnies often try biting to get their will. My bunny Yohio readily bites me if I stop petting him too soon. He’s become better though, probably because I don’t let him have more pets (or treats or whatever it is he’s demanding) if he bites to get it.

You should not comply, compliance reinforces the behavior. The bunny may reason: “Aha, biting works! So I’ll keep biting and thereby, in time, I will conquer the world.”

It is perfectly normal bunny behavior though and doesn’t mean she doesn’t like you, it’s just that from her point of view, she knows how things should be and when you obviously don’t, she corrects you.

Well, if someone farted on me I might bite them too! =D

Seriously though, it sounds like she is just nipping to get her way. Wooly will put him teeth on me and not actually bite down when he is displeased with something I’m doing. My guess is that is what your bunny is doing too.

You can try making a high-pitched sound when he bites you so he knows that biting is not ok.

Maybe try removing her every time she bites or tries to bite? So she thinks biting = getting the opposite of what she wants.

It’s fine to talk bunny language to them when they are doing something to you you don’t like, they do it to each other and no harm done.

A high pitched shriek, a finger flick to the nose or base of the the ears usually works very quickly for such behavior.

Mine likes to nibble my socks and that is how we deal with it. He gets the idea I don’t like it and none of those little reminders is painful or traumatizing.

I moved her aside but farted a second time by accident and she just grunted really loudly, stomped, and ran off for half a minute before coming back to inspect.
