I’ve been asked to rabbit-sit for 2 months by a friend of a friend.  They will be providing the food, litter and cage.  But they asked how much I was going to charge them.  I have NO IDEA what amount to offer.  I don’t want to be unreasonable high, but I also don’t want to sell myself short.

The rabbit would be staying in my bedroom (as some of you read about my experience trying to introduce Ziggy to other rabbits).  And I would provide for it as well as I do for my own rabbit.

        Any input is appreciated!

Are they providing money for fresh veggies too? What about hay?

I would take that into consideration and 2 months – wow that’s a long time.

I usually charge $10 a day but I use my own litter and then when I run out of the fresh veggies, my veggies. I don’t think $10 is unreasonable – it’s extra time you have to use to care daily for their rabbit.

Holy cow, 2 months? Hmm, yes it’s going to depend on whether or not they are providing everything you need. Maybe a couple hundred dollars for your time, plus money for veggies?

Oh gee rayray, this is a hard one! Two reasons – 2 months is a long time, is it gonna be hard to give them back? (That would be my problem with that length of time), and secondly, not really being YOUR friend – could the favour be returned if you ever needed Ziggy looked after? But I think if you ever needed the Zigster to be cared for you’d probably get your mum to help? Also, how is Ziggy gonna go SHARING you/your time? I honestly don’t know???? Sorry! I think the $10 per day sounds reasonable if the favour can’t/won’t be returned. Good luck rayray. (& no way should you sell yourself short – 2 months is a big ask! and we all know you will care for them both perfectly!).
