He is still about the same. Luckily the tube feeding isn’t causing him to lose too much weight. He still does not eat or drink on his own unless he is on his play dates. When he is at his play dates he acts pretty normal other than being slightly lazier than he usually is. He is very attached to the lionhead female and no longer likes the older lop male (he now attacks him whenever he sees him).  He tolerates another young mini rex rabbit but she doesn’t seem to like him much. But that might change considering the female is only 7 weeks old.

When he comes home he is extremely hyper and seemingly normal for 2-3 hours and then he just stops and goes to the same corner and won’t move. He also does not allow me to touch him at all. I went to clip his toenails yesterday and he bit me and was making this like high pitched whining  sound.

He comes to school with me and will eat a bit of hay on his own there but only if my professor hand feeds it to him (he really likes my professor).

At this point when I am not home Enki is not home so there is always someone there to keep an eye on him.

I’m glad he is always with someone. It sounds like his play dates are really helping him, and I hope they continue to help him! Keep giving him extra love

I feel for you and Enki – I’ve never ever had a rabbit respond this way when their partner passed. Hopefully you will find a rabbit on his playdates that you feel will connect with him and bond easily.

Poor little guy. ((((Feel better, Enki))))

Is adopting the lionhead an option?

Poor little guy. =( I agree, it’s good that he always have someone around. Hopefully all the play dates will produce a new friend for him.

The little lionhead will be available for a trial adoption once she is 8-10 weeks. He plays in a “group” of rabbits when he goes on the play dates but mostly sticks to her but will interact with a few of the other rabbits. When I take him to school he will only interact with my professor and that is only if she is sitting in front of his carrier.

All of my rabbits so far seem to have a hard time when their mate passes. But this has been the worst by far. It is like he isn’t even here unless he is growling or biting when you attempt to touch him in any way. He won’t even let my dogs around him (he would literally sleep on top of my oldest male dog). If they go near him he runs and hides or starts growling and thumping. But when he is with the other rabbits I can bring any of my dogs in and he immediately starts grooming them or running in between their feet.

Poor Enki he really seems to be very down.
Has he been checked over again by your vet? The whining noise and aggressiveness at being touched might be a pain response. I do realize he could just be in the throes of extreme grief but I just hope he’s not nursing an underlying condition.
I really hope too that he might be able to accept a new companion. It must be so hard to see him like this.
                    ((((((((Hugs and vibes))))))))) xx

I thought the same thing about him possibly being in pain. He went to the vet Wednesday evening but they said other than losing a little weight he is perfectly healthy. They took a few blood and stool samples as well as xrays just to be on the safe side.

It is very hard to see him like this. He is usually a very bouncy hyper loving rabbit. He is usually attached to my lap and if he can’t get to my lap he claws my arm or leg until I let him on my lap. And now I can’t even touch him.

We just got back from play dates. Enki is acting almost like his old self right now. He scared my cat into his tower (Popcorn thought he could pounce behind him but Enki had other ideas) and is now flopped over in the floor.

Instagram picture so not so great quality. And don’t mind the claws he actually let me cut them!

Aw he is such a sweet boy! It must be so hated to see him so sad it looks like with any grieving process he has good times and bad times. Soon he will have many many good times

I’m glad he had a good play date. He is such a handsome boy. I really want to give him a big hug, poor little sweetie.

I have decided to bring the lionhead baby home for a trial run. He is just too happy around other rabbits for me to watch him continue to not be happy. I am supposed to bring her home on Saturday provided everything goes smoothly. I am having a slow week at school so I should be able to post some pictures of them once she is here. Hopefully they will be pictures of a happy Enki.

Oh Sonn I am so sorry this is happening.  I too hope Enki get moves past his grief and his lionhead pal can help him.  May they make a good pair.

I know it has to hurt seeing Enki like this.
