Ugh I don’t usually go to my local pet store but today I really needed hay so I had to. Of course like always they had bunnies but they had the tiniest bunny I’d ever seen apparently ‘he’ is a ‘mini rex’ he was so small didn’t even fill my whole hand. The lady reckons he is nine weeks old but I’m not sure how small mini rex babies are so I don’t know if he is 9 weeks or not. I found it so hard not to take the little darling home ugh I hate pet shops!

If he didnt’ fill your hand, he’s probably younger than that. I found a tiny baby in a pet shop a while ago that I had to resist taking home. Poor things.

Good thing I’ve never seen that here yet. I have no choice but to go to pet stores to get supplies. I check the bunnies every time! I wonder if there is a pet welfare service here. I’m going to look that up so I know where to go if I see a bunny that is just too young.

We had this same experience and were thinking about taking the pair home – until we noticed they were crawling in fleas. =( My younger son was crying – I just told him the pet store owners would take care of it, but we couldn’t risk bringing something into the house that could make our other pets sick. We did alert someone there about the fleas. I feel sad though thinking about those poor sweet things.
