I just made an appointment to have my bunny Penelope spayed. she will be about 3 1/2 months old when i take her in, I called the Vet to find out how old/young can they be and they said 3 months. What should i expect. i am very nervous about this. she is smaller then the average bunny being a lionhead. will this stunt her growth at all, i like her small but i don’t want to harm her in anyway. Also will she change after the spay? I think she is just the sweetest little thing and i don’t want her personalitly to change to much. I know for her health its the right thing to do but i can’t help but worry something can happen to her because of the spay. oh the cost was very resonable i had worried it would be a fortune but for the pre meds, the anesthesia , her fluids and pain meds after it was only $150..am i right to think that is a good price for her spay?

It won’t stunt her growth but honestly you can wait until she’s a little older (around 6 months) to spay her. She won’t change after her spay.

That is an excellent price for a spay :~)

Does it change anything if i wait. Is it better to wait..the date they had available works good for me cuz all my kids will be in school, while she recovers..if i wait much longer they will be home, and i like the idea of the more peaceful recovery, i wouldn’t let them touch her of course but the house in general will be very quiet while they are in school

3.5 months sounds young to me, but if the vet wants to do it then and it works with your schedule, you can. I assume the kids are in school through May though… Can you schedule it closer to then?
